Blogaholics Anonymous

I'm a blog addict, an information junkie. I read decorating blogs, home organization blogs, adoption blogs, political blogs - anything that makes me learn or think or laugh or grow. Here's a smattering of posts I've enjoyed lately. Disclaimer: By posting these links, I'm not saying I endorse all the views expressed; but I am saying they made me think.

I'm posting these links on Friday instead of Sunday this week.  There's a lot of good stuff here, and I want to give you time to check out as many as you'd like.  You may notice that I included posts by both a birthmother and an adult adoptee.  That's important.  As adoptive parents, we need to listen to and honor their voices.

Is there a blog you read regularly? A website you love? Leave a comment and let me know what it is and why you like it. You can even shamelessly promote your own blog. Gotta feed my addiction.

What a Nursing Bra Taught Me About Friendship - aren't you curious about this one?

Friendship is Hard (and How to Make it Easier) - a follow-up to the "nursing bra" post.
"Positive" Adoption Language? - written by a birthmother.

I Choose Being Here - is it weird for a mom to prefer a night home with her kids to a Girls Night Out?

Why My (Amended) Birth Certificate is a Lie - written by an adult adoptee.

The Other Side of Obedience (and why I hate sequels.) - I may have saved the best for last.  This is a powerfully written story of a couple who takes in six foster siblings.

  1. Oh my! Thank you for including me! This was totally unexpected and not only made my day but is inspiring me to write!

    1. You SHOULD write - because you have a gift! I meant to write and ask if I could link to your post - especially becaus it was personal. So glad that you are pleased to see it here.

  2. Dana...I read 2 blogs regularly...TOO MANY B's (a homeschool mother of 4 boys under 8 years old) and WHO ATE MY BLOG (a friends weight loss journey (down 300 lbs from his beginning weight of 632) plus yours of course!

    1. Thanks, Judi. I'll take a look!

  3. I hit the "restart" button on my blog (meaning, my life has changed so much that I had to delete all of my old posts to make room for our new life's journey)
