Arrived in Guangzhou

Ok. So I was a little less than thrilled to be flying to Guangzhou on September 11. But like I told my kids, it’s probably the safest day of the year to fly.

But then we boarded our flight at 2:30 pm and proceeded to sit at the gate for FOUR HOURS.  They fed us twice and showed a couple of Chinese movies.  And didn't tell us anything. 

I went ahead and asked. “Could you tell me why we haven’t taken off yet?”

“The air,” she replied.

The air outside our window looked great. Nice and sunny.

So we sat there and wondered what had happened and where?

Turns out we really were delayed because of weather.  We arrived in Guangzhou at 9:52 pm instead of 6 pm.

Wen Xin had never been on a plane before.  I bet he's thinking, "It's really great after the part where you sit there for FOUR HOURS."
